4/21 - Blue skies, scope eyes

"Scope eye" is a condition anyone who studies raptors is familiar with. After several hours of stairing through a spotting scope at a lazy, loafing raptor, one's eyes become locked out of focus for quite some time. A good case of scope eye usually lasts until late in the eveening for me. Reading becomes impossible and focusing on small things is tough. You see double of everything you look at with both eyes. Other that the eye strain, today was another remarkable island day.

Looking south from the South Ridge at the red rock formations.

Great shot of a subadult bald eagle. The bird flew right over my head, and as I fumbled with the camera, it continued down into Willows Canyon.

Headed out of Laguna Canyon, through the Christy Pines.
